Publishing to Tableau Public

If you want to share you Tableau viz, dashboard, or story with others, you can pay for Tableau Server (to keep it private) or get a free Tableau Public account. Publishing to Tableau Public doesn't mean that you'll have to share your valuable and private data with the world; you can turn of the ability to download the original dataset, but it does mean that any summarized visualization of the data you include in the workbook will be publicly available. However, this is still a good option when you don't mind sharing the viz, but you need to keep individual records (which often contain personally identifying information) private. This video assumes that you've completed the prior video tutorial. So, with your workbook open that you completed based on the "Getting Started" video that uses the Global Superstore dataset, follow along with the video below. Although the video will walk you through this step, you will want to first create your Tableau Public account (which is unique from your Tableau account).

Now that you've published your workbook to Tableau Public, you may consider browsing the many cool vizualizations published in the Tableau Public Gallery.
