1.6 Summary

The purpose of this online book is to teach you--through step-by-step video tutorials--how to use some the latest and most commen techniques data analytics. It's diveded into a smaller portion on descriptive analysis (where most graduate students already have some experience and understanding) using Tableau as the dominant tool and a much larger portion on predictive analytics using Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Studio. Predictive analytics are the "holy grail" of data mining and are so quickly dismissed by those who do not understand them (often including those at the top of organization hierarchies).
